HOTEL SAGUNTUM
Hotel Saguntum is a contemporary building inserted within the historic fabric of the city of Valencia. It has been designed as a big house where guests will share their home during a few days. The central atrium is a fresh cave-like environment lit from above that acts as an attraction space for both social interaction and environmental performance. It creates chances for people to encounter and exchange opinions, and it also brings controlled light down to the lobby and activates the natural ventilation strategy in the building. The sculptural staircase that occupies that atrium invites the guests to use it while moving across the hotel, it connects their rooms to the variuous restaurants, bars and amenities located on the different floors of the building. An intensive research has been carried out to propose a Net Zero Carbon Design developed in partnership with WSP Design Studio.
