Architecture begins with a conversation

We understand architecture as a cultural undertaking, commited to respond to contemporary challenges and rooted in the history of the discipline. Each of our  project starts with a vision, a set of constraints, and a context that is specific to it. We listen carefully to our clients, commissioners and care to understand the needs of the end users. Before anything is drawn or modelled, we invest time in understanding the full picture what the site demands, what the history of the place carries, and what success genuinely looks like for everyone involved. Our main goal is to improve the quality of our environment. 

A cultural process built around people and data

Our architecture does not emerge from intuition and historical research alone. From the first meeting we work through sketches, drawings and models to enable conversations and test ideas. We have merged the latest advancements in AI, parametric design tools and BIM technology into our design process to generate, evaluate and deliver our projects. The process is iterative — moving through cycles of generation, evaluation and refinement, shaped by the discussions we enable along the process with everyone involved.

Sustainability as a design discipline

The built environment accounts for roughly 40% of global carbon emissions, energy use, and waste. A significant share of a building's footprint is determined before it is even occupied, embedded in the materials and decisions made at design stage. We treat sustainability not as a layer applied at the end of the process, but as one of the parameters that informs our design decisions from the beginning; alongside spatial quality, programme, and value.

A well designed building can reduce heating and cooling demand by 40 to 60 percent before any mechanical system is introduced. On materials, embodied carbon is a design parameter from the outset. Materials derived from nature or produced through lighter industrial processes carry significantly less carbon than conventional construction materials.

Research and teaching

Our design thinking is continuously informed by our engagement with research and academia. Antonio Moll is a design tutor at the Environmental and Technical Studies department of the Architectural Association in London, where the intersection of computational design, environmental performance and the future of the built environment is central to the work. Beyond the AA, we participate regularly in lectures, conferences and workshops across the industry, sharing our approach to low-carbon design and engaging with the broader conversation about where architecture needs to go.
